That's 4 cars and a solar electric barge built this year.... not bad for our first year of electric cars... oh yes... and another 2 on their way!
Cost less than £1600 including NEW electric vehicle motor, NEW electric vehicle controller (box of electronics to control the throttle) this also includes £165 to buy the car in the first place from Ebay! batteries are bought separately a low cost set from £300 or a we also supply a great set of deep cycle traction batteries for extended range. Can be built in 3 or 4 days, by someone with moderate DIY skills, hey we're even thinking of mounting our 2 solar panels on the roof! we recon we will get about 10 miles per day on a days worth of solar.... just right for the daily shopping trip... all on solar power! On a full charge with these low budget batteries we recon on about 25-30 miles range keeping the speed to about 40 MPH. This is great for a local run around! with the deep cycle full traction batteries the range is considerably extended.

You don't need nuffink else to make an electric car..... oh yes you do... some chunky wire to wire it together AND a big RED STOP button!..£55. we got one of those!
Maintenance is so simple.... there is only 1 Moving part.... the electric motor.... electricity in... it goes round.... and its sooooo small...
12 Kilowatts of power! its also over 90 % efficient!
We hope to charge it with Solar and Wind Power, we may also buy a small diesel generator and convert it to Sunflower oil.... see www.arcvillage.org for details of converting to sunflower. maybe we can take the generator with us for long trips, perhaps in a trailer for a wacky kind of HYBRID car..... ahh... all too much FUN!
we also thought of solar panels that fold out from underneath like wings..... chitty chitty bang bang style! or how about a portable wind generator... so when you stop for a picnic you can be charging the batteries.... hey..... electric vehicles are ROAD TAX FREE.
